If you are a connoisseur of fine local wines and brews, you’ll want to make a point of stopping at our local wineries and breweries right here in Linn County.
The Willamette Valley is a rich wine region, and Linn County has two in-county family-owned wineries within short distances of many of the other attractions that bring people to us.
Marks Ridge Winery, one of Oregon’s newest wineries, is located on a hilltop on Berlin Road, just north of Sweet Home. The vineyard, more than 30 years old, has been restored to health by its owners and produces Pinot Noir, Riesling and Gewürztraminer wines. Marks Ridge is open Thursday through Sunday afternoons and by appointment. It offers frequent art shows and, during the summer, Friday night musical performances. Springhill Cellars, located just north of Albany on Scenic Drive, produces award-winning Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, along with occasional specialty wines. Springhill is open weekends during the summer and holds the annual Fedeweisser Festival each Thanksgiving weekend, which includes a popular barn dance.
Calapooia Brewing, on the east side of downtown Albany, offers what are regarded by many as some of the best microbrews in the Willamette Valley and has received national attention for its products. It hosts live musical performances each weekend and offers a wide variety of brews on tap. Calapooia also produces the Siletz Brewing Co. label beers, which are created in Albany as well.
